Events to go to in London this week
this week as a labelled example of a London week, not a list of real gigs and not the Marathon.
London’s famous days are annual, and its pleasant nights are local. The Marathon fills the streets once a spring. Wimbledon fills a fortnight in summer. The Proms fill the Royal Albert Hall in their season. Notting Hill Carnival fills one bank-holiday weekend. The rest of the year is markets, theatres, and whatever band is actually booked into a small room. This page keeps those things separate.
The cards below are examples. They are not real events, they do not link to tickets, and FeelingFlexi is not selling them. Borough Market, Columbia Road, the Southbank Centre, the Barbican, the parks and the river are real. Their hours and programmes are not frozen. Check before you go. For a weekend of places rather than listings, read things to do in London this weekend.
Example listings. The events on this page are samples that show the format. They are not real events; live listings come from ticket partners.
The weekend, as a sample: this weekend
Use Saturday for a market or the river, and the evening for Soho or a show you have confirmed. Sunday is the heath, the flowers or Greenwich, not a second late night plus a race that is not happening.

What a London week is usually made of
Music
Week-to-week music in London is small rooms in Soho, Camden, Dalston and Brixton, plus the Barbican and the Southbank Centre when their programmes are the reason you are going. The Royal Albert Hall has its own calendar, and the Proms are the summer season there, not a Friday you can assume. Large park concerts happen, and they are announced properly when they happen. A sample card is not that announcement. Check before you go.
Food and drink
Borough Market is the famous hall by London Bridge. Broadway Market and Maltby Street are the smaller Saturday answers. Columbia Road is the Sunday flower market, with food in the shops beside it. None of them is a ticketed festival. Supper clubs are occasional. Book a real table in Soho if the night matters, and check the market day before you travel.
Nightlife
Soho is the walkable night in the centre. Shoreditch and Dalston are the east. The South Bank is better early. Greenwich has its own evening if you are already there. Know the last Tube or the night bus before you need it. A sample club card is not a guest list.
Festivals
The London Marathon, Wimbledon, the BBC Proms, Notting Hill Carnival and the Lord Mayor’s Show are the dates the city is known for. They are annual or seasonal, they are real, and they are not pinned to this example week. Frieze is an autumn art fair some years in Regent’s Park. Use their organisers. A sample riverside card is not a permit.
Tours and outdoors
Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Regent’s Park, Hampstead Heath, Greenwich Park and the Thames path are the outdoor shapes. Kew is the half-day garden in the west. River boats exist and change their names and times. The sample walks below are not a company. Check the weather, and check timed entry for the Tower, the Eye and the Sky Garden, before you treat a view as walk-up.
Plan around the river, not around a poster
Do not borrow the Marathon
The London Marathon is a real race and a real day of closed roads. It is not an example card, and it is not automatically on because you are in London in spring. Check the year. The same restraint applies to Carnival, Wimbledon and the Proms.
Confirm the market before you cross town
Borough, Portobello, Broadway Market and Columbia Road are worth the trip when they are on. They are a dull ride when you guessed the day. Check the morning you mean.
Leave the South Bank before it thins out
The river path is a good early night and a worse late one. Eat in Soho or near Borough, and know whether the Tube is still running before you order dessert.
FeelingFlexi does not sell tickets. Sample cards are not a checkout. Partner listings in the app are sold by the partner, at the partner’s price.
If you came for the Marathon, Carnival or the Proms, use those calendars. If you came for an ordinary good week, the categories below are the map, and the app is the deck.
Questions
Are these London events real?
No. Each card is an example and says so. There is no ticket link. The writing around the cards names real markets, real theatres and real annual events without putting those annual events on a fake date.
Where is the London Marathon listing?
Not here. The Marathon is annual. Check the organisers for the year you are visiting. The same applies to Notting Hill Carnival, Wimbledon and the Proms.
Where should I look for a real ticket?
FeelingFlexi does not sell tickets on this page. Use the theatre or venue’s own schedule, a market’s own page, or the FeelingFlexi app, where a partner listing is sold by that partner.
What if I only have one night?
Walk the South Bank while it is busy, then eat in Soho or near Borough. Add a show only if you have already seen one you want. Leave Greenwich and Hampstead for a morning.
