Events to go to in Cape Town this week

this week, with the weekend first: live music, a supper club, a warehouse night, a spring market and a sunrise paddle.

There is something on in Cape Town almost every night, but it rarely all happens in one place. A jazz set in Gardens, a supper club in Kalk Bay and a warehouse party in Salt River can all fall on the same Saturday, so this page puts the week in one list and starts with the weekend, which is the busiest stretch.

Midweek is quieter and often better value, and spring brings more outdoor events onto the calendar. Those depend on the weather, so organisers may move times or dates at short notice. Always check the event page before you set off.

What the week looks like by category

Music

Cape Town’s music scene is spread across small rooms rather than one big strip. Expect jazz in the City Bowl and Gardens, singer-songwriters in Observatory and outdoor concerts on Southern Suburbs lawns when the weather allows.

Food & Drink

Food events here lean on what the region does best: seafood from the False Bay harbours, wine from the farms around Constantia, and Saturday markets where local producers sell directly.

Nightlife

Evenings usually start with a sundowner somewhere with a view and move on to the City Bowl, De Waterkant or the warehouse spaces of Salt River. Weekend nights run late; midweek is quieter and often better value.

Festivals

Spring brings a steady run of markets and small festivals. Most are family-friendly in the day and turn into something more social once the lights come on.

Tours & Outdoors

Guided trips are a good way to see the mountain and the coast with someone who knows the conditions. All outdoor events depend on the weather, so organisers may move times or dates at short notice.

Plan your week

Book the supper clubs early

Shared-table dinners and tastings have limited seats and often sell out before the weekend.

Plan your ride home

Late nights in the City Bowl, De Waterkant and Salt River run past midnight. Sort out how you are getting home before you go out.

Watch the weather

Outdoor concerts, hikes and paddles can move or be cancelled if the wind is up. Check the organiser’s page on the day.

FeelingFlexi does not sell tickets. On the live listings, each event links to the partner selling it, and prices and times are set by the organiser and can change.
